Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival
Music Event Hosted by Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival
In 2018, the 9th annual Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival will join the District of Columbia in celebrating the "Year of the Anacostia." Nestled between the banks of the Anacostia River, Kingman Island has become a park dedicated to preserving natural resources and educating District youth about conservation and becoming better stewards of the natural world. This festival has introduced thousands of guests to the beauty that lies within our Nation's capital and this year we gather, once again, to support and celebrate the continued restoration and maintenance of the Anacostia and Kingman Island as vital community resources. Kingman Island is a place for families to enjoy so we encourage you to bring your children to enjoy the beauty of the island and the fun that awaits you at the festival.
The Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival Artisan Market will feature unique, quality craft goods sold by local merchants within the DC community. Proceeds from the Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival benefit Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region and are allocated to the maintenance and restoration of the island and to educational programming in Washington, DC.
